Workers
A worker runs things. It claims tool calls from the log, runs them, and writes the results back. The Mod app runs one on your Mac; others run in VMs or the cloud.
Mod decides
- Where something runs is placement, and placement is never part of an address.
- A tool call is claimed once. Two workers never run the same call.
- A worker can be a VM that cold-starts for one session. See VMs.
- Moving a session to another machine moves its placement, not its history. The log and documents are already there.
- Changing Mod's documents and running commands on a machine are separate permissions, granted separately.
You decide
- Which machines your work runs on.
- What a session may do on a machine.
